Stormgate Developer Update: The Road Ahead for Campaign
Hello, everybody. First off, I want to thank everyone who has given the initial Campaign missions a play-through and has taken the time to send us feedback. Hearing from you really improves our development process and is the reason why we always strive to share our work in progress. I believe that your voices and feedback directly help us make Stormgate a better game. With that in mind, I want to reassure you that our entire development team has been paying attention to your feedback since the beginning of our Early Access preview period. We hear you loud and clear–and we are committed to iterating with the benefit of your feedback.
August 8 Balance Community Update
Greetings, Stormgaters! We witnessed some incredible Stormgating this weekend, with Probe triumphing in the TastelessTV Stormgate Showdown and becoming our first Stormgate Champion! Additionally, in grassroots play, Bee and Percival claimed victory in the Alpha Navigators Cup for the Europe and Americas regions, respectively. Throughout this first week, we've been closely following these pro tournaments, actively playing the game, and gathering feedback from top players. Today, I'd like to discuss the current state of the game and outline some upcoming changes. (For those who prefer a quick summary, there's a TL;DR at the bottom.) For those of you who are still riding with us, here are a few things we’ll be looking at:
Early Access Update 0.0.1—Patch Notes
We come to you today with our first patch operating a live game! Today’s patch includes a slew of balance changes that will surely shake up the meta. Our team worked very hard to get the patch ready this quickly, so please be gentle with your feedback. This patch also aims to improve game performance, stability, and balance before our upcoming free to play launch on August 13.
Early Access Preview: Learnings and Feedback
Two days ago, Stormgate was released publicly into Early Access. This was a huge milestone for us. Early Access is a new experience for the team, but I genuinely believe in the benefits of using feedback to drive development. We want to thank all of you who have been supportive of our team and of Stormgate. Remember: this is only the beginning of our journey. Our Early Access launch formally begins on August 13 when we open up the game for free to all players and we still have a long road ahead. We expect to be in Early Access for at least a year of active development before we believe we’ll be ready for 1.0. That won’t be the end, either, as we plan to release new stories and more content for years to come.
Watch Stormgate during our Preview Period to earn exciting Twitch Drops!
From July 30–August 13, Twitch Drops will be enabled for all Stormgate-streaming channels. If you tune in to any streamer with drops enabled, you’ll be able to start earning progress towards three Twitch-exclusive in-game rewards.
Introducing Warz -The Fallen Celestial
Meet Warz--the fallen Celestial. Warz (voiced by Simu Liu), is a central figure in the Stormgate storyline and leads the Infernal invasion of Earth. He was revealed in playable form exclusively at gamescom latam during the opening countdown.
